Phoebe Cotta Paquin 75 of East Providence, passed away peacefully at Orchard View Manor in East Providence Thursday, August 25, 2016. she was the beloved wife of Leo Theophile Paquin Jr.for over 49 years she was the daughter of the late Jose and Phoebe (Santos) Cotta, and Grandmother to the late Jason Defreitas.
She took on her first job at the tender age of 14 as a secretary for Finest Market from 1954 until 1959 she spent the next 22 years being an adorning mother, that was her most joyous job as soon as she was confident that her children were able to take care of themselves she went back into the workforce at C & S packaging in West Warwick as a Supervisor from 1980 till retiring in 1991 due to illness. In her later years she volunteered as a foster grandparent at Orlo Ave. Elementary school in East Providence, which she found to be extremely gratifying.
Phoebe was a beautiful and loving woman, Her role as wife, Mother, Grandmother and great Grandmother, brought her many years of happiness, she was so proud of her six children Larry F Defreitas and his wife Sharon of Warwick, Robert J. Defreitas of East Providence,, James M. Defreitas and his long time companion Lynn Frassica of East Providence. Loriann Budziak and her husband Owen Budziak of Exeter, Leo T Paquin III of Cranston and Joseph Paquin and his wife Julie of Riverside. she also leaves behind Her brother Antonio Cotta of Riverside and her sister Amelia Cotta Watkins of East Providence 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 2 nephews whom she loved dearly.
